Hi and welcome to American Legion Hardin Post 113 2012 Karaoke Idol contest which is produced by Rick Riley's Spotlight Entertainment Company.  The contest is being conducted at different locations with the finals performed at the LANDING ZONE club at Fort Knox, KY.  Best five contestants from the American Legion Post 113 will be eligible for prices and will be participating for the semi-finals at the Landing Zone Club Fort Knox, KY.

American Legion Hardin Post 113 Karaoke Idol Contest Rules 2012

1.  Semi-Final Round Rules.

        a. Must be 21 or older to participate at American Legion Contest and be a current or past service member or
            family.

        b. Semi-Final Round is Saturday, APRIL 14, 2012 at 8 PM. Contestants should be present by 7 PM.

        c. Contestants will perform one song of their choice.

        d. Best 15 Contestants will advance to the Final Round on Saturday, April 14, 2012 ???

2.  Final Round Rules.

        a. Contest finals will begin at 8 PM.

        b. Finalists must be present by 7 PM.

        c. Contestants will perform one Country, One R&B & One Pop/Rock Song.

        d. Best five contestants will be rewarded.

        e. Best five contestants advance to the Fort Knox Karaoke Idol Semi-Finals held on Tuesday, May 1, 2012
          at the Landing Zone Club (Former Rocker Club).

         f. Contestants are judged in three categories for the finals:

                  i. Vocal Ability (1000 points available). How well did the contestant sing? Originality is encouraged.
                     We are  not looking for artist impersonators.

                 ii. Stage Presence (1000 points available). How well did the contestant perform while singing?
                     We will look for dress, audience connection, gestures, etc.

                iii. Audience Approval (20 points per vote). Every person present will receive one ballot with which to submit
                     one vote for their favorite contestant. As you can see 10 votes is 200 points, 20 votes is 400 points, etc.,
                     so bring a fan club.

        g. All finalists are required to be interviewed for the finals night production at the Landing Zone Club.
          Failure to be interviewed will result in disqualification. On camera, each finalists will present their biography
            and discuss the songs they are performing for the finals at the Landing Zone II (1 Pop/Rock Song,
           1 Country Song & 1 R&B/Hip-Hop Song). This recording will preface each finalists’ performance (like American
            Idol) as an introduction. Recording will be conducted at the Landing Zone II on Fort Knox on:

                 i. Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 2 PM until 11 PM and

                ii. Monday, April 16, 2012 from 6 PM until 10 PM.

         h. Fort Knox Karaoke Idol Finalists Rehearsal Night will be conducted on Sunday, April 29, 2012
           from 8 PM until 1 AM at the Landing Zone Club. Order of performance drawing will occur at 10 PM.

3. Prizes (American Legion Finals) $330 Total:
           1st Place wins: $200 cash; 2d Place wins: $60 beverage card; 3d Place wins $30 beverage card;
           4th & 5th Place win $20 beverage card each.

4. Prizes (Fort Knox Karaoke Idol Finals) $2000 Total:

          a. (Ages 21 & Older) 1st Place wins: $500; 2d Place wins: $300; 3d Place wins: $200; Most Popular wins: $100.

          b. (Ages 6-12) 1st Place wins: $200 bond; 2d wins: $100 bond; 3d wins: $50 bond; Most Popular wins: $100 bond

          c. (Ages 13-20) 1st Place wins: $200 bond; 2d wins: $100 bond; 3d wins: $50 bond;
                                       Most Popular wins: $100 bond
