How to Properly Dispose a Unserviceable Flag.
- The Flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting
emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by
burning.
- NO LONGER FITTING EMBLEM; "UNSERVICEABLE" meaning frayed around the
edges, soiled, holes or faded. When the flag becomes unserviceable it is
customary to destroy it by burning it in a dignified manner. This can be
done ceremoniously as a group or an individual may destroy the flag, by
burning as long as it is done discretely and with dignity. Just use a little
